MIO YOKOYAMA
Saku and Japan Woman Society Executive Officer
I graduated from a pharmacy school in Japan and hold a pharmacist license.
After graduating from university, I worked as a medical representative (MR)
for a pharmaceutical company in Japan. Later, I met and married my husband,
who is a doctor. After marriage, I started assisting in the management of
my husband's clinic, eventually moving into the field of management myself.
Combining my inherent spirit of challenge with my husband's clinic,
which was originally struggling, we quickly transformed it into a
popular clinic in the local community. During this time, while managing the clinic,
I also became a mother of three children, experiencing firsthand the challenges
of women's participation in society. Recognizing the importance of social contribution,
we established and began operating a company aimed at supporting women,
based on my own experiences.
My spirit of challenge has not waned over the years.
I travel across Japan, sharing the challenges faced
by female business owners in similar positions, offering management advice,
and expanding my network. As my children grew up, I began to interact
with business owners living in the United States, realizing that despite
the difference in countries, people share similar struggles and are
all doing their best. The ability I have cultivated throughout
my life to prioritize tasks such as management, childcare,
and community activities while raising children convinces me that
I can contribute not only to Japanese companies but also to the world.
Not only myself but also the talented staff inspired by me will continue to grow,
aiming for a company that can contribute to society regardless
of nationality and assist everyone.
